Start with the food task on the active list

Use Pinkie’s checklist to tell which preparation interaction is currently needed. Stay with the kitchen work assigned by that objective rather than jumping ahead to the served cupcake scene.

Finish the frosting interaction

At the cupcake frosting task, follow the green guide with the frosting tube and finish the topping interaction. Keep your attention on the cupcake you are working on instead of moving to a different station halfway through it.

If the active preparation step is the batter task, its rhythm cue belongs to adding ingredients. A batter interaction and a frosting interaction ask for different actions, even though both contribute to the same party. Let the active food objective tell you which one you are completing.

Leave preparation when the search warning starts

Pinkie can interrupt chores with hide-and-seek. Do not keep trying to finish a frosting motion through the warning. Deal with the search first, then return to the unfinished preparation task once work resumes.

Remembering the last food step is useful here. It keeps a search interruption from turning into a second, unrelated search for which kitchen object you had been using.

Save the served cupcake for the finale

The cupcake at the final party table is a story interaction after preparation. Completing frosting does not itself finish that finale. Follow the chapter’s later seating and food instructions when they appear.
